Buyers’ guide:
Diamonds:
Made of pure carbon, diamonds are the hardest natural substance known to man. Every diamond is unique, with its own individual beauty. At Curtis Jewelry, we know that selecting the finest diamonds is an intuitive art: the work of a connoisseur rather than a scientist. We evaluate the diamonds we purchase according to the most rigorous standards. Four of the most commonly known factors used to measure the rarity of a diamond are the “4C’s”-- cut, color, carat weight and clarity. The 4C's selection criteria, introduced by DeBeers in 1939, are a valuable tool that will help you better evaluate the quality of the diamond you purchase. Also see our large collection of certified diamonds. (see four c’s chart)
Colored Stones
Among the large selection of colored gemstones in our collection are rubies, emeralds, sapphires, amethysts, garnets of all types, aquamarines, pearls, peridots, opals, tourmalines, citrines, zircons, and topaz of all colors.
At Curtis Jewelry, we take great care to comply with all laws and regulations governing gem labeling and disclosure. You'll know exactly what you are buying, and will be fully informed about any treatments or enhancements that have been applied to your gemstone.
